On March 3, 2018, the Washington DC Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints closed for an extensive renovation. The Kensington, Maryland landmark has been in service since 1974 and needs significant upgrades to its mechanical system. In addition, the finishes and furnishings of the temple will be refreshed.

The project is expected to be completed sometime in 2020. Following the remodel, the public will be invited to tour the temple during an open house. After the open house, the temple will be rededicated.

More information, dates and public open house information will be posted when the renovations are complete.
